The story behind Justin’s Nut Butter

Justin’s Nut Butter started with a man named Justin and one truly powerful idea. Combined with his immense ambition and a simple food processor, he took his affinity for local and natural ingredients to make something he could share with his community.

Justin was inspired to make nut butters due to his vegetarian diet and active lifestyle. Nut butter was a staple in his diet (it’s an amazing source of protein), but the products he was able to find on store shelves didn’t offer much variety. He started experimenting in the kitchen and filling his cabinet with a variety of nut butters he made—which his roommates would proceed to snack on—so he started writing his name on all of the jars, and that is where the story really begins…

Justin’s family encouraged him to sell his tasty Nut Butters at the Boulder Farmers’ Market in Colorado. With the help of mentors and extensive research at Colorado University’s Leeds School of Business, he was able to develop his first business plan. At this time, his company was still very much a one-man operation. He would work a full-time job and fit in time on nights and weekends where he would use a salsa company’s kitchen to make larger quantities of the nut butters since they had an FDA compliant facility.

Justin’s became known for its innovative flavors, like Heavenly Honey Peanut Butter, Sinfully Cinnamon Peanut Butter, Honey Almond Butter and Pumpkin Pie Peanut Butter. A one-of-a-kind taste and texture made Justin’s Nut Butters a smashing success in Boulder, which then gave Justin the leverage to sell his products in stores locally and then worldwide.

The nutrition behind Justin’s Nut Butter

The nutrition of every one of Justin’s Nut Butter products will vary, but the products all have one thing in common: mouthwatering, nutty taste from peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, or other nuts. And while the flavor might feel indulgent, nut butter is actually good for you and can offer ample health benefits.

First, nuts are known for their high fat content—the good kind, that is. Peanuts, almonds, and hazelnuts all contain monounsaturated fats (or MUFAs) that have been linked to lowering the risk of heart disease. Other healthy sources of MUFAs include avocados oil, olive oil, and other nuts, which are also vibrant additions to a diet. In fact, for optimal health it’s suggested that adults should strive to consume 25 percent of the daily calories from monounsaturated fats.

Aside from being a healthy fat, nuts also have a high protein content, clocking in at more than one egg. Protein acts as a building block for the body, making up many parts like the hair, nails, bones, muscles, cartilage, blood, and skin. It’s also a big player in helping the body heal from injuries, maintaining good bone health, increasing strength and muscle mass, and lowering blood pressure.

Additionally, protein has the added benefit of acting as a natural appetite suppressant because of its high satiating power. It’s possible to fill up for longer by enjoying snacks with some of Justin’s Nut Butter products—rather than reaching for potato chips or sugary chocolates that tend to leave people feeling hungry shortly afterwards. Furthermore, because protein provides energy, it puts the body to work. With its high thermic effect, the body actually ends up burning more calories as it’s digested.

It’s also important to know that Justin’s line of products is made with organic nuts, and they don’t add in any unknown or unpronounceable ingredients. Believe it or not, some other peanut butters on the market only contain 60% peanuts. But with Justin’s Nut Butter, that means no harmful pesticides, artificial ingredients, or extra sugars—just wholesome flavors from natural sources.

Chocolate-Pear Smoothie

That’s right, mixing in some almond butter or peanut butter create an unbelievably rich smoothie.
