Bone broth has been all the rage in wellness circles the past few years, and there’s a good reason why. This popular ingredient has it all—minerals, vitamins, collagen, and it’s friendly for lots of diets like keto, paleo, and gluten-free. We love making our own when we have the time (and remember to save our bones and scraps), but there’s no shame in reaching for a boxed version, especially with brands like Kettle & Fire on the shelf. Every batch of broth combines marrow bones with organic veggies and filtered water, then simmers everything for up to 24 hours—just the right amount of time for all the nutrients to soak into the broth before boxing it up for your pantry.

The History of Kettle & Fire

In 2013, brothers Justin and Nick Mares first learned about the health benefits of bone broth (mostly thanks to Justin exploring a paleo diet). Shortly after, Nick tore his ACL and was on the hunt for foods that could help his recovery process, but when it came to finding high-quality bone broth, the brothers came up short. There were plenty of broths on the market, but many of them were made from cattle that weren’t grass-fed, ingredients that weren’t organic, and shipped in styrofoam containers that don’t do the environment any favors. That’s when they decided to go into business and create the best bone broth on the market.

Kettle & Fire Company Mission

Kettle & Fire wants to share the benefits of bone broth with the world. It took the founders a year to develop the best recipes, source the best bones, organic ingredients, and develop eco-friendly packaging, but now their broths are family favorites in kitchens across the country. Thrive Market member Amy says she always keeps it on hand, and Dana reports it’s perfect for when she has an upset stomach or doesn’t feel like eating a heavy meal.

Benefits of Kettle & Fire

If you haven’t become a fan of bone broth yet, here are a few reasons why you might want to start sipping.

Low and slow: Kettle & Fire’s bone broth is simmered between 20 and 24 hours to allow for all the nutrients to seep in.
Ready in minutes: In five minutes flat, your bone broth is ready to sip—just simmer it on the stovetop until warmed through. If you’re using it for soups or other recipes, just pour it right in.
Pantry-friendly: With a two-year shelf life, you can count on your bone broth to last season after season.
Quality ingredients: The vegetables are organic, and when it comes to cattle, they’re humanely raised with no antibiotics or hormones. Also, the cows are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished.
Sustainable packaging: Kettle & Fire’s boxes are made with FSC-certified paper, meaning it’s responsibly sourced and approved by other global organizations like Greenpeace and World Wildlife Fund.
