About This Brand

Now Foods

Vitamins and supplements might be mainstream, but that hasn’t always been the case. NOW Foods was a pioneer back in the 1960s, long before micronutrients, protein powders, and alternative sweeteners were all the rage, and today it makes some of the top products on the market to help nourish you from the inside out. The History of NOW Foods In 1968, health foods were still marketed in relative obscurity, but this is precisely the time when entrepreneur Elwood Richard opened a small chain of health food stores in Chicago. Smells Like Christmas

Unlike the 4 oz. Now Foods Essential Oil (i.e. lavender, lemon, orange), this has an inner plastic insert cap that allows the oil to flow through the opening, one drop at a time (the 4 oz. has a plastic cap insert that does not have a pre-made hole; it would require a pipet). I discovered this by testing it out on my hand, and out came two large drops (or two small splashes, depending on your perspective). I rubbed the excess all over my hands, but as I realized it was still too much product to absorb onto my skin, I went to rinse it off. Even after washing my hands two or three times, the scent remained for a while afterwards. It is definitely condensed and carries a strong scent! The notes are akin to the spices used in winter cooking. For those who celebrate Christmas, there is that distinct, nostalgic smell. Clove is supposedly good as an anti-bacterial, -fungal, and -inflammatory, and will be used for— among many usages and recipes— citrus & cinnamon lotion bar for a migraine-ailing family member, as clove is claimed to be good for headaches.

I am very happy with this clove oil... Soothing to the throat when a few drops are mixed with water... Knocks out canker sores! Just dab a little on the sore and usually the canker sore will clear up pretty fast... The pain will be gone!

Way too strong

I often use essential oils in my diffuser, which has a small piece of wool gripped in a plastic piece that is gently heated from an electric coil underneath. This clove oil is so strong that it actually clings to the plastic, making every oil smell like clove, even though the wool piece has been changed. If I touch the bottle I can’t get the smell off my hands for some time. Keeping the bottle in a drawer made the whole drawer reek. I won’t be using this again, and am uncertain how to dispose of it.
