The History of Pip's Heirloom Snacks

Pip's Heirloom Snacks started in 2012 when Jeff Martin was helping his sister Jen Martin move apartments. The only item that wasn’t packed was a bag of heirloom popcorn kernels she’d found in the Chicago health food store where she worked, and after popping a batch, they declared it to be the best popcorn they’d ever tasted. The siblings ended up tracking down the Indiana farmer who grew it from his family’s heirloom seed stock, and together with Jeff’s wife, Teresa Tsou, the trio launched a brand. They started selling at a shop in Brooklyn, New York with hand-stamped bags filled with popcorn popped in their mom’s spaghetti pot. Later, Pip's Heirloom Snacks landed a deal on Shark Tank and was able to bring popcorn to the masses and develop more products like twists and crackers.
