<p>The inspiration for Q Mixers came about just before the company started in 2007, when founder and current CEO Jordan Silbert was sitting in his Brooklyn backyard drinking expensive gin and tonics with friends. At the time, he had discovered that the bottle of tonic water they were using as a mixer contained artificial flavors and preservatives, along with a total of 32 grams of high fructose corn syrup. After a handful of high-profile bars, restaurants and retailers began purchasing the product in wholesale quantities, Q Mixers garnered press attention and soon larger clients, who also requested new varieties and flavors. Silbert’s longtime friend from childhood - Ben Karlin - helped co-found the company and is currently president.</p>
