The History of Santa Cruz Organic

Santa Cruz Organic got its start back in the early 1970s when founder and nature enthusiast, John Battendieri, took to the orchards of the Santa Cruz mountains, which are known for exceptionally flavorful fruit. In 1972, Battendieri pressed his first batch of "Mr. Natural" apple juice, which became Santa Cruz Organic’s first packaged organic product.

Santa Cruz Organic Company Mission

Santa Cruz Organic believes that nature is the truest form of art. The brand’s mission is to infuse the beauty of nature into every step of production, from harvest to bottle. The company also works to raise awareness for the health and economic benefits of organic agriculture by offering the highest quality organic products it can produce.

Benefits of Santa Cruz Organic

As one of the original organic brands on the market, Santa Cruz Organic was the first company to offer a wide selection of organic, 100 percent juices and blends. Today, the brand offers more than 50 organic products, including fruit juices, fruit-based sauces, peanut butter, and fruit spreads. But the brand is also a leader when it comes to sustainability efforts. Not only does Santa Cruz Organic carefully select organic growers who share the brand’s commitment to sustainability and organic farming practices, but it has also helped these farmers to conserve water resources, build soil integrity, and support a healthier ecosystem.
