It’s not the same

First time having jackfruit and it reminds me of artichokes. Not terrible but the BBQ sauce was very spicy.

If you want a meat replacement, jackfruit is not it. It’s something that can take on the flavors that are traditionally meant for meat products but with a texture that is a vegetable. I don’t really like mock meats and so this is perfect for me when I’m craving something savory.

Not sure how to feel

I'll admit, I'm very new to jackfruit. I think the acidity of the barbecue sauce was a bit much for me. I could have added some maple syrup if I made this "marinade" myself. However, I bought this intentionally so I could try jackfruit already marinated/ seasoned. I don't want to have to add anything extra. Having said that, I'm grateful that I also bought canned jackfruit, which I'll marinate with some Sweet Baby Ray's now that I know the flavor of this one just is not for me.

I was curious about trying jackfruit and this caught my attention. It's pretty good! The sauce is spicy. I added some mayo to cut the spice.

Pleasantly surprised

Wasn't sure about trying the bbq as I am very particular about my sauces but this complemented the jackfruit well. Has a little kick to it without being overly hot.

Great vegan alternative to the traditional bbq. I gave it to my meat loving husband and he said he couldn’t even tell the difference. He wants me to buy more which is saying a lot. It’s tasty!

Tastes great but the texture is not for me, my husband and roommate both enjoyed it though.
