Reviews For Dark Chocolate Bar - 100% Cacao
Based on 9 Reviews
I have "leaky gut" syndrome and must avoid all carbs/sugars. I've tried a umber of unsweetened chocolate products and they usually taste awful and/or have gritty or weird texture. A friend sent me one Pure7 bar for Christmas in a goody basket. I was hesitant to try it, but needing a holiday chocolate fix one day I gave it a try. Was pleasantly surprised! Pure7 is the first such product that has a good chocolate taste, good smooth texture, and yes, it is NOT sweet, but for anyone needing to avoid sugars, it's a blessing.
Once you clean your system away from all the sugary junk out there, you will find eating things unsweetened actually taste better!
But yes, many folks may say "yuck!" if they're still addicted to sugar.
No complaints that are the fault of the bar. You get what you ask for with this. 100% cacao is not for the feint - intense!
I'm not sure what I would like added to it (maybe some vanilla?) but it is definitely an... acquired taste. It is highly unlikely that you will be snacking on this as a treat (maybe that's a good thing?).

I've tried many bars that are 90% cocoa. Didn't realize that 10% of other stuff is what makes the flavor really good. These 100% cocoa chocolate bars are unpalatable. I took one bite and through the rest of the bar away.

Coming from a chocolate snob, this is excellent quality chocolate! It is wonderful to have a chocolate bar with all the benefits of cacao and no sweetener!
It may be cheating a little, but it is a nice treat for me while on the "Whole 30"!
Very bitter but has its place
Expect a bitter punch in the mouth the first time you try it. But if you're eating low carb it's nice to break off a bite or two from the bar and nibble on it after dinner. Also you do get a bit used to the bitterness if you have it consistently, also having some raw almonds or coconut butter with it helps stretch the bitterness out a bit which can help!
Perfect for those who want nothing but pure chocolate!
Fabulous, rich flavor. I was looking for pure 100% cacao with no sweetener added - and this hit the spot!
Great for baking or making chocolate confections. Definitely not for munching on plain...unless you like the taste of unsweetened chocolate. It's far too bitter for me.
Far too bitter for me...
I think my face is still puckering from the layers of bitterness. It just got more and more intense with each passing second. I LOVE dark chocolate and was hoping this would be a Paleo-friendly alternative. But it appears cacao without the sugar is BITTER! Yikes. Not even a hint of pleasure in this for me. I could tell it was the *source* of my beloved dark chocolate, but the harsh, punishing source.
Caramel, Nutty and Addicting!
My first bite of this bar was, hmmmm, I might use it for making homemade chocolate cups sweetened with honey. Now, I am addicted to it straight out of the wrapper. It has a lot going on with flavor notes. I have a small square twice a day to satisfy cravings and get in some magnesium.

The act of breaking off a square of rich, sweet chocolate at work or before bed feels, well, naughty. Perhaps we glance to our left and right to make sure no one’s watching before we slide a bar ou...Read More
