About This Brand

A family of raw sweeteners including sugar, stevia, agave, and monk fruit. When In The Raw founder, Marvin Eisenstadt, joined his dad’s Brooklyn sugar-packing business in 1956, natural food wasn’t much of a buzzword yet. But before long, a local restaurant called Brownie’s asked Marvin to help find a less-processed sugar for their health-conscious customers. Marv jumped right on the idea, then to the tropics and back with a delicious Turbinado sugar. He named it Sugar In The Raw.Over the years, more and more people caught on to the wholesome alternative, but it wasn't until the late 1990's that the real sweetening revolution really took off, and coffee houses put the little brown packets on every other street corner across America. Pretty lucky for us. Luckier still, people are always looking for more authentic options these days. So Marv and his sons, Steven and Jeff, and son-in-law, Michael, introduced Stevia In The Raw, next came Agave In The Raw, then Monk Fruit In The Raw, and...

Sugar is Sugar

but you might as well eat it raw. It's good.

Yum

I've used this sugar regularly for nearly a year now and love that it is a great substitute for bleached white sugar.

Raw, pure sugar

I love this and use it for my coffee, tea and oatmeal. It's raw, unrefined sugar, so it's sweet, but it's not processed, so it's sugar the way it's meant to be eaten. It's not going to be as sweet as normal sugar, but I like that it gives me just enough of a sweetness without me overdosing on sugar. Great price on Thrive too, less than what it sells for at my Giant supermarket up here in Arlington.

Best Price for Great Sugar

Sugar in the Raw is always in our pantry. It tastes wonderful and is so much better for you than traditional sugar. I love the large crystals. They are perfect for topping delicate pastries and cupcakes.

When my husband's company downsized, I was afraid we would have to go back to the large 99-cent bag of white sugar. Then we found Thrive Market. It's an online membership store for all things healthy, both food and beauty products. The best part is the discount, which is on every item, every day.

The sugar you'll adore

This is real sugar, but you'll notice that is much more flavorful and sweeter than regular white sugar. It tastes magnificent. So wonderful that you will not ever buy that white stuff again.

Because it is sweeter you can use less. It tastes great in all the same places you'd use any sugar or sugar substitute.

Sweeter and Sweeter

Because this sugar is not bleached, it has an extremely sweet flavor that stands out against white sugar. I prefer it over white sugar because it is closest to it's natural state than white.
I tend to use a ton of sugar, so I buy this two at a time so I never run out because I love to bake and I also add sugar to my oatmeal, coffee, and tea. It is perfect. Nothing is added or taken away from this sugar keeping it pure and tasty.
