In honor of Veterans Day, we’re teaming up with brand partner, New Chapter, for a special campaign to support The Warrior Connection. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to “changing the lives of U.S. veterans and their families.” From November 10 to November 16, New Chapter will be donating 10% of their product sales to The Warrior Connection, and we’ll be matching that donation.
Founded in 2009, The Warrior Connection has served hundreds of military men, women, and their families through individual mentoring, group coaching, trauma-sensitive exercise, and more. What started as a small group of volunteers hoping to make a difference in their community, has expanded into a nationwide network of individuals committed to bettering the lives of those who have served our country. In 2018 alone, The Warrior Connection served 102 veterans, 16 military spouses, and 381 military families, thanks to the work of more than 680 volunteers and partners who spent nearly 7,000 hours coordinating 41 events.
Veteran Marie Milord, who attended one of The Warrior Connection’s women’s retreats in 2016, said it was a powerful, transformative experience.
“I was able to connect with other female veterans who were struggling as a result of their military experience, and was able to talk about things that I usually don’t talk about to others,” she said. “I was able to gain support and encouragement from my fellow comrades. I felt that I wasn’t alone.”
The Warrior Connection is hoping to serve 30% more veterans and military spouses in the coming year. Buying New Chapter products during the week of Veteran’s Day helps support the nonprofit’s aim to extend its reach and and fine-tune its existing programs.
