Bob’s Red Mill is on a mission to prove that not all grains are created equal. Their line offers an array of whole grain products that retain the nutrient content of unprocessed grains, while sticking with the old school way of milling. But while there are many endearing aspects of this family company (Bob and his wife Charlee being one of them), it is the brand’s desire to place the integrity of their product above all else that keeps us returning to Bob’s line of pantry staples time and time again.

The History of Bob’s Red Mill

Bob’s Red Mill got its start through founder Bob Moore and his wife Charlee, who share a passion for healthy, natural food. It wasn’t until Bob and Charlee retired that they found an old mill for sale in Oregon City and decided to launch the company in 1978 and dedicated themselves to producing healthy, nutrient-rich food staples. Though a fire nearly ended the company’s future for good just a year later, the mill was eventually rebuilt to be better than ever. Today, each of Bob’s Red Mill facilities include old world engineering that would be found in a traditional stone mill, which ensures the most nutritious parts of the whole grain remain in tact.

Bob’s Red Mill Company Mission

Built on honesty, trust, and integrity, Bob’s Red Mill hopes to make the world a better place through whole grains. As one of the largest lines of organic, whole grain foods in the country, the company works to fulfill its commitment to look after more and more people through better nutrition.

Benefits of Bob’s Red Mill

Each Bob’s Red Mill product is made with whole grains—not processed grain—which means all parts of the kernel are used. This results in grains and flours rich in complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. Its offerings also includes gluten-free pantry staples for those who suffer from a gluten intolerance or Celiac disease.

The company also takes great care to ensure a high-quality product by maintaining close relationships with its farmers across the country and following a rigorous certification process in order to be USDA Organic and non-GMO. After all, food that is naturally delicious should indeed be natural.
