About This Brand

Tropical Valley Foods was founded in 2001 by Eric Bertheau. At first, we started with a small production unit in Haiti where we produced organic dried mango only. Then came the dried bananas and gradually the company grew to produce a variety of organic, tropical dried fruits. To distribute the products, a US sister company was founded in 2004, going by the same name of Tropical Valley Foods. Although we were still producing in the Caribbean, we started to import additional organic dried fruits from Latin American countries. We strove to standardize protocols among all these facilities to create a uniform quality, organic certification, HACCP standards (food safety) and an ethical code of conduct. The objective was to maintain equitable relationships with the growers and planters from whom the companies purchased the fresh fruits. After those early years, Tropical Valley Foods, by then fully established in Plattsburgh, NY, started to diversify and added chocolates to the dried...

My goto snack

I order these a lot, it's a terrific price & I have to learn that I can't eat the whole bag in one sitting, but I was snacking on these while waiting for the doctor to see me & I noticed that they were all gone, he took forever & I just love these!!!!

Great snack

I'm trying to eat more walnuts since I'm pregnant, but quickly burned out on the plain variety. I figured I'd try these as a treat-snack and they didn't disappoint. They're not too sweet, so it's not so much like eating candy and just a few will do as they're quite filling. I was surprised by the amount in the bag, too. They lasted quite a while, even with my toddler helping me on occasion. (Some pieces are quite large, others are the size of peas, good size for my little guy to have 2-3 as a treat.)

Sweet and Salty

Perfect Sweet treat

These walnuts are amazing. I could eat the whole bag in one sitting if I want careful. They're sweet enough to curb chocolate cravings but still earthy tasting from the walnut. Each walnut is individually coated and satisfying after just one.

I love these chocolate covered walnuts... Big fresh-tasting chunks of half or whole walnuts covered in a delicious chocolate. I didn't find these too sweet our artificial tasting as the other reviewer did. A great treat when I just need a little pick-me-up--- the rich walnut really satisfies. Will definitely buy again!

Chocolate Walnuts

First of all, I am a great lover of chocolate, especially dark chocolate, and of nuts as well, so I was excited about ordering these chocolate covered nuts. The chocolate covered walnuts are smothered and basically lost in the chocolate. The chocolate has an overly sugary and artificial taste - although, it does not contain artificial ingredients. To better this product, they would need to use less chocolate so that the texture and flavor of the walnuts can be enhanced.
