The smell of this when cooking is horrible, like all fish sauces, but it subsides as you cook it and the flavor it brings to dishes is out of this world.

News at 11: Fish Sauce Tastes Fishy

This is a high-quality product. My 4/5 star rating isn't about the quality or price, but rather my enjoyment of the product itself. :) I grew up in the land of cheesy casseroles and meat/potatoes -- fermented anchovy liquid is a bit out of my wheelhouse! After trying it in a few different curry recipes, my review can best be summed up as: "Huh. It's kind of ... fishy." (Who'd've thought that concentrated, fermented fish would taste fishy, right?) I WILL say that it adds a certain salty, umami goodness to the dish -- I simply can't decide how much I like it. The finished dishes were GREAT, but the fishiness threw me off. I might give Bragg's Liquid Aminos a shot (as a salty/umami substitute) and see if I like that better; in the meantime, I'll keep giving this one a shot. I WILL say that this exact product is much cheaper on Thrive (by several dollars) than at my local grocery store or other online retailers (*cough* south american river *cough*).
