The History of Sambazon

In 1999, two friends - and later, one brother - went to Brazil to surf, and understandably fell in love with the nation's culture and energy. The next year, they decided to take those newfound passions and start Sambazon, with a focus on the açaí berry superfood.

It's the key ingredient in all of the company's organic energy drinks, and its success has led them to distribute these high-quality products in 25 different countries across five continents.

In adhering to this ideal, the company supports about 20,000 family farmers in the Amazon rainforest, sourcing berries and other ingredients from places where they are harvested in much the same way they have for centuries: from palm (tree) to palm (of the hand).
