Cheers to hemp extract oil! This supplement is all the rage because it contains CBD. Short for cannabidiol, this phytocannabinoid is found in the hemp plant and is being studied for its potential wellness properties. (Also, it’s not psychoactive). So, if you’re ready to add hemp extract oil to your routine, or are looking for new ways to get a daily dose, this episode of Prep School is for you! Megan Mitchell shows us how to make two drinks that are so good that you’ll want them to become part of your morning and nighttime routine.
Start your morning with a refreshing sip of green iced tea—made with lemon, mint, and a serving of citrus-flavored CBD oil. We have three ways to steep it, so choose the option based on how much time you have.
Yield: 8 cups
Active time: 15 minutes
Total time: Up to 24 hours
8 cups filtered water
10 green tea bags
Maple syrup, to taste (optional)
Juice from 1 large lemon
10 to 12 mint sprigs, plus more for garnish
Ice
1 to 2 droppers Charlotte’s Web 7 mg Hemp Extract Oil, Lemon Twist
Lemon slices, for garnish
Option 1 (15 minutes)
Boil water in a saucepan; remove from heat and add tea bags; steep 3 minutes. Discard tea bags, then stir in maple syrup (if using), lemon juice, and mint springs, muddling slightly to release their oils. Add 3 cups of ice to the pot to help chill the tea quickly. Fill a glass with ice and pour green tea over the top. Stir in 1 to 2 droppers of CBD oil, and garnish with a lemon slice and sprig of mint. Transfer remaining tea to a pitcher and refrigerate.
Option 1 (1 to 2 hours)
Boil water in a saucepan; remove from heat and add tea bags; steep 3 minutes. Discard tea bags, then stir in maple syrup (if using), lemon juice, and mint springs. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours, or until chilled. To serve, fill a glass with ice and pour green tea over the top. Stir in 1 to 2 droppers of CBD oil, and garnish with a lemon slice and sprig of mint. Transfer remaining tea to a pitcher and refrigerate.
Option 3 (5 to 24 hours)
Place water in a large pitcher. Add in tea bags, maple syrup (if using), lemon juice, and mint sprigs. Stir together then refrigerate for 5 hours, and up to 24 hours. Discard tea bags. To serve, fill a glass with ice and pour green tea over the top. Stir in 1 to 2 droppers of CBD oil, and garnish with a lemon slice and sprig of mint.
Relax into your night with an iced nut milk-based beverage sweetened with orange blossom honey and infused with a few drops of CBD oil. The aromatics like saffron and cardamom need time to steep, so plan accordingly.
Yield: 1 serving
Active time: 10 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
1 ½ cups non-dairy milk of choice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon saffron threads
4 green cardamom pods, gently smashed
Orange blossom honey, to taste
Ice
1 to 2 droppers Charlotte’s Web 60 mg Hemp Extract Oil, Orange Blossom
Rose water (optional)
Combine milk, vanilla extract, saffron, cardamom pods, and honey on a small saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat. Once simmering, remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a liquid measuring cup. Fill a glass with ice, then pour the strained liquid over it. Add 1 to 2 droppers of CBD oil and a splash of rose water, if using.
