Thrive Market and Save the Children Are Supporting Students in Rural Communities

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and know where their next meal is coming from—regardless of where they grow up. That’s a belief at the core of everything we do at Thrive Market. And it’s exactly why we’re proud to announce our partnership with Save the Children to support Learn Without Limits, a national campaign to transform educational opportunity for kids in rural America.
The Crisis in Rural Classrooms

Only 1% of federal education resources reach rural communities. One in five rural children lives in poverty—that’s approximately 3 million kids. And by third grade, rural children are already reading nearly a third of a grade level behind their non-rural peers.
The reality is that kids can’t learn when they’re hungry, isolated, or without teachers—all issues that are common in rural communities, including small towns, farming communities, and reservations. It’s also an issue that we aim to help address with our partners at Save the Children.
What is Learn Without Limits?

Learn Without Limits is Save the Children’s multi-year platform dedicated to addressing the rural education crisis head-on. The campaign focuses on the full picture of what kids need to thrive: food security, early childhood education, grade-school literacy, and long-term workforce opportunity.
The major goal is this: get every child reading by 3rd grade.
The campaign kicks off on September 8, 2026, as a National Day of Action & Giving, anchored by book vending machine drops at school communities across the country, from the Quinault Indian Reservation in Washington State to Uvalde County in Texas to rural Kentucky and Mississippi. Thrive Market is proud to provide snacks for these in-person events, because we know that kids can’t learn when they’re hungry.
Why This Partnership Matters to Us

Thrive Market exists to make healthy living easy and affordable for everyone. The families we serve—often in communities that are overlooked by traditional grocery stores—are the same families who understand what it means when resources don’t reach you simply because of where you live.
Partnering with Save the Children on Learn Without Limits is a natural extension of who we are. We believe in equitable access. We believe in community. And we believe that a child’s zip code should never be the thing that limits what they become.
How Thrive Market Members Can Help

Starting September 8, Thrive Market members will have the opportunity to donate directly at checkout. Every dollar goes toward Save the Children’s work in rural communities: expanding access to books, meals, early learning programs, and the educators who make it all possible.
Our goal? Raise $100,000 together (that’s enough to support an in-school literacy program for 60 to 80 children!)
You can get involved by making a donation at checkout when you stock up on your favorite better-for-you groceries from Thrive Market.
