With warm aroma of yesterday’s pumpkin pie still fresh in our minds, we’ve got a DIY that will keep that pumpkin spice scent alive for the rest of the holiday season—and detox skin.
These gorgeous homemade soaps make great holiday gifts, and give you an excuse skip the Black Friday crowds.
The recipe starts with ultra-moisturizing shea butter as a base, and includes allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon, which not only give this beauty bar its signature scent, but also add antimicrobial properties and help draw out impurities. Vanilla essential oil complements all the spice with a hint of sweetness, and rosebuds act as a mild exfoliant that look and feel luxurious.

4 pounds unrefined shea butter (4 cups melted)
2 to 4 tablespoons mixed allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon
2 to 4 tablespoons rosebuds
1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla essential oil
Melt shea butter in a pot for 10 minutes over medium-high heat, then remove from heat and pour into a large glass bowl. Add spices and rosebuds and stir. Let cool 5 minutes.
Once cooled slightly, stir again thoroughly. Pour mixture into molds and let them set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Unmold and voila! Luxurious beauty bars to give you and everyone on your list the gift of glowing skin.
