Editor’s Picks: Our Favorite Products in January

Last Update: August 31, 2023

As Thrive Market employees, we know a lot about our products. We swap recommendations, we sample from the “free table” at Thrive Market HQ, and we’re the first to add newly-launched items to our orders. Editor’s Picks is a monthly column rounding up the top three products our blog editors are loving.

We eased into the new year with healthy alternatives to beer and coffee, got back to basics with wholesome pantry staples, and upleveled our kitchen chores with some sustainable (and stylish) accessories. For these and more of what the Thrive Market blog editors bought and loved this month, read on.

Thrive Market x Lesser Evil All About The Elote Popcorn

I’m a huge fan of just about every snack Lesser Evil makes, so I can’t wait to try our new exclusive collab popcorn. The vegan elote flavor is spicy and “cheesy,” and the simple ingredients may make it my new favorite healthy treat for movie nights at home.

Thrive Market Organic Brown Rice & Quinoa

My favorite, filling base for just about any quick lunch: a salad, stir fry, curry, or even a last-minute addition to a soup or stew.

HIC Harold Import Co. Dish Brush

Dishwashing tools aren’t generally very pretty, but these are! I have them in every shape and size, and I love that they make my kitchen sink look put-together (even when it’s full of dirty dishes).

Thrive Market Organic Pitted Medjool Dates

These are a go-to ingredient and snack for me. I add them to smoothies, stuff them with peanut butter and chocolate chips, or just snack on them solo. I’ve found that other dates I’ve tried can sometimes be dry, but these are always chewy and melt in your mouth! I’m obsessed!

HOP WTR Sparkling Hop Water, Mango

I bring these to social functions as an alternative to beer and my friends are always amazed at how great of a substitute they are! The fizz and hops hit the same as a beer would, and the added adaptogens and nootropics make for a relaxing experience. I highly recommend the mango flavor.

Sun Potion Tocos

This is one of my favorite superfoods! I see a noticeable difference in my skin when I take it regularly. I love adding this to smoothies and coffee—it gives them a nice creamy texture and I appreciate that it doesn’t have a taste.

Gaia Herbs Plantforce Liquid Iron

Made with honey, elderberry, and sea buckthorn, this liquid supplement is a delicious way to up my iron intake and support my energy levels.

Anima Mundi Adaptogenic Immortality Powder

As an alternative to coffee in the afternoon, I mix this functional mushroom powder with warm oat milk and a splash of maple syrup. It contains seven different varieties of mushroom, including reishi and lion’s mane, plus rich-tasting heirloom cacao.

Thrive Market Collagen Peptides

I see a noticeable difference in the strength of my nails when I add a scoop of this collagen to my morning coffee regularly. It’s tasteless and dissolves completely, so it’s an easy way to get an extra 10 grams of protein without even really thinking about it.

Yogi Tea Soothing Caramel Bedtime

Most nights you can find me on the couch with a cup of tea and whatever TV show I’m currently watching. I love the flavor of this caffeine-free blend. It’s slightly sweet with cozy spices like ginger, clove, and cinnamon, so it’s a little more exciting than my typical chamomile or peppermint. I let it steep for just two or three minutes, then add a little almond milk.

Weleda Baby Nourishing Face Cream

I am not a baby nor do I have a baby, but I do have very sensitive, dehydrated skin. Whenever it’s acting up, I’ve learned to strip back my routine to simple, gentle products and focus on moisture. This face lotion—from Weleda, a brand I already love—gets the job done. Unlike the brand’s beloved Skin Food, which is a go-to when my skin isn’t particularly reactive, it doesn’t have a strong fragrance and the calendula calms everything down.

Sanzo Sparkling Water, Yuzu with Ginger
I’m obsessed with yuzu right now, so when I spotted this new Sanzo flavor in the office fridge last month I hoarded several cans. What a combination—so refreshing and unexpected. Plus, I just love everything about the brand (and how cute is founder Sandro Roco?).
