Meet Hind, An Art Teacher and Mom of Three Who Finds Support Through Thrive Gives

Last Update: November 21, 2025

As an elementary art teacher and mother of three, Hind is constantly balancing creativity and connection, both in her classroom and at home. Between lesson planning, art projects, and raising her young kids, finding time to grocery shop isn’t always easy. That’s why she turned to Thrive Market and our Thrive Gives program, which offers free memberships to teachers, first responders, veterans, nurses, students, and individuals and families in financial need.

Hind discovered Thrive Market after seeing other moms posting about their orders on social media. “I was in the midst of having children,” she says. “It was hard for me to go out to the grocery store, but I still wanted to give healthy foods to my kids.” Once she learned about Thrive Gives, becoming a member was an easy decision. “I dug a little deeper and found that if you’re a teacher, you get a free membership. It was a no-brainer.”

Cooking & Creativity

At home in metro Atlanta, Hind’s creativity extends beyond her classroom walls. Her children—Leanna (6), Louay (5), and Lujayn, (3)—are vibrant and energetic, often painting and doing art projects. Like most kids, they also love to snack. “My youngest flies under the radar sometimes because she’s so cute, but you’ll find her in the corner with all of the chocolate wrappers when you’re not looking,” Hind laughs.

Creativity and food go hand in hand in their home; Hind sees cooking as another way for her family to create something together. “My kids kind of just brought themselves [into the kitchen],” she says. “They see me doing what I’m doing, and they just want to be with mom.” To encourage their independence, she lets the kids help with small tasks while cooking and preparing food. “I give them tasks that they can manage so they feel that they’re capable,” she says. “Then we’re all in the kitchen together making stuff.”

Thrive Market: A Constant in a Busy Life

For Hind, Thrive Market quickly became part of her family’s rhythm.

“When I used to go to the grocery store, I had to load up three kids in three car seats,” she says. “I’d have to unload them, load the groceries, they’re yelling, I’m not able to focus. I want to be happy with my kids, not stressed out.”

Her kids now recognize the familiar sight of a Thrive Market box on the doorstep. “They get really excited every time the box comes,” Hind laughs.

Her Thrive Market order reflects what’s best for everyone in the family. “The whole family eats halal or kosher meat products, so it’s cool that Thrive Market has some of those options,” she says. Hind is gluten-free, and her oldest daughter, Liana, is dairy-free to address issues with her sinuses. “I need to take into account all those things—halal, kosher, gluten-free, and dairy-free—when I put together our meals,” she says.

At this point, Hind has her Thrive Market favorites down to a science. “I get a lot of the on-the-go stuff,” she says. She stocks up on pre-made soups to heat for a quick lunch at work; ALOHA protein bars (“They’re plant-based, they taste amazing, and I always have them in my bag,” she says); and Jovial gluten-free pastas for easy weeknight dinners for the whole family. Her hack for handling dietary restrictions? Make the same thing for everyone. “The kids love it and don’t know the difference,” she says.

As a single mom, Hind says that anything that makes life easier and more fun is a plus. “Thrive Market is something that’s constant—it’s always there,” she says. “If it’s a week that’s really hard for us and we just need to be together, we know we’ll have the groceries we need at home.”
