At Thrive Market, our members aren’t just members; you’re also part of our larger mission to make healthy and sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone. We know that it takes teamwork to accomplish these larger goals, and we’re so proud to say that in 2023, we achieved some of those larger, more impactful goals we’ve had since day one.
When we look back on the past year, it’s both the large and small moments that stand out the most: from the huge, years-in-the-making accomplishments toward food equality to each new product we launched that was created using regenerative agriculture. It all makes a difference.

In 2023, we were honored to become Climate Neutral Certified. This label is earned by brands that demonstrate they have invested to avoid, remove, and reduce all of the carbon emissions from making and delivering their products and services. To get there, we worked with Change Climate to set science-aligned reduction targets and an action plan that we began implementing in 2023.
While we’ve been a proud B Corporation since 2020, in 2023, we went a step further and became a Public Benefit Corporation, a legal designation that allows for-profit companies to prioritize a greater social mission and balance profits with purpose.
We set a goal to raise $10 million in healthy groceries by 2025, and in early 2023, we hit that goal a full two years early. By the end of the year, we had reached a total of $13.4 million raised since Thrive Market’s founding — and we set a new goal to raise $20 million in healthy groceries by 2030.
A major part of that $13.4 million number includes our members’ donations at checkout. In 2023, our members generously donated more than $500,000 — and here’s exactly where that money went:
We’re Plastic Neutral Certified with rePurpose Global, an organization that helps us to reduce and account for all of our plastic use as a company. In 2023, we partnered with the organization to create Thriving Together, a working group that helps other conscious brands (102 so far!) to develop their own plastic reduction efforts.
We’ve been working diligently for almost a decade to be able to accept SNAP EBT benefits, even gathering 300,000+ signatures asking Congress to bring SNAP EBT online. In 2024, we finally achieved that goal, enabling us to provide healthy and affordable groceries to as many families as possible.
