From day one, Thrive Market has been a mission-driven company. It’s always been a part of our business to make healthy living affordable and accessible to all, from providing healthy groceries to those who need them most to doing our part to help reverse the effects of climate change.
In 2023, we achieved some long-awaited mission milestones — but we couldn’t have done it without your support. Here are a few of our proudest achievements from the past year.

The Fight for Food Equality
- In 2023, 339,623 teachers, nurses, first responders, students, veterans & families in need received free Thrive Market memberships through our Thrive Gives program.
Read more: Meet Thrive Gives Members Nikki, Victoria, Roxanne, Travon, Emilie, Casey, and James - You helped surpass $13.4M in donations for healthy groceries and food education — which means we surpassed our goal to reach $10M by 2025 a full two years early (and in excess!). We were even able to set a new goal to raise $20M in healthy groceries by 2030.
Read more: We’re Working to Raise $20 Million for Food Equality by 2030 - Through our partnership with FoodCorps, we helped educators teach 18,000 students to date about food education through hands-on learning in classrooms and gardens.
Read more: Fueling Healthy Minds: Go Back to School with FoodCorps and Thrive Market - Through our partnership with FoodCycle LA, we were able to donate 750 boxes of healthy groceries to community members in need in our hometown of Los Angeles.

- We matched your donations at checkout to raise $47,453 to provide healthy, nourishing meals to those affected by the disastrous earthquakes in Turkey and Syria through our nonprofit partners at World Central Kitchen.
- Thanks to your donations, we raised $22,864 to provide healthy essentials for the families impacted by the devastating wildfires in Maui through our nonprofit partners at Baby2Baby.
Big Swings for Sustainability

- In 2023, we officially became Climate Neutral Certified through measuring and compensating for 100% of carbon emissions. We also set and are working towards science-aligned reduction targets by implementing new software to optimize shipment loads and increasing our investments in regenerative agriculture.
Read more: Thrive Market is Now Climate Neutral Certified! - We became Plastic Neutral Certified. Through our partnership with rePurpose Global, for every pound of plastic that we use, an equivalent amount of additional, verified plastic waste is removed from the environment — and this year marked the first that we removed just as much as we used in packaging for our brands and shipping materials for all member orders.
Read more: Thrive Market is Now Plastic Neutral Certified! Here’s What That Means - We maintained TRUE Certification for Zero Waste at all three of our warehouses. That means that we recycle, compost, or reuse at least 90% of all materials that enter our buildings.

2023 Sustainable Product Spotlight

Thrive Market Regeneratively Grown Organic Dried Mango
Our new regeneratively grown mango supports small scale organic farmers in Limbua, Kenya, where the mangoes are grown using biodiversity and sustainable farming techniques. We follow fair trade practices throughout the entire production and supply chain, which ensures human rights and ethical working conditions.

Thrive Market Reusable Beeswax Food Wraps
These reusable food wraps are made with responsibly sourced, food-grade French beeswax and organic cotton, making it easy to ditch your usual single-use plastic food wraps.

Thrive Market Regeneratively Grown Organic Hemp Seed Hearts
Our new hemp hearts are grown using cover cropping, composting, and other regenerative organic farming practices that help to sequester carbon in the soil and improve soil health.

Thrive Market Toothpaste Tablets
These waterless, chewable tablets are a plastic-free alternative to traditional toothpaste. In America alone, consumers use more than 400 million tubes of toothpaste annually. We developed these tablets in reusable glass jars in an effort to decrease our plastic packaging and keep plastic toothpaste containers out of landfills.
Thank you for your support this year and every year. We know that the only way toward a more sustainable future is to work together, and we’re so excited to see what we can accomplish together in 2024.
