Meet Thrive Gives Members Nikki, Victoria, Roxanne, Travon, Emilie, Casey, and James

Last Update: March 15, 2024

Thrive Gives is a program that’s near and dear to the Thrive Market mission. The concept is simple: If you’re a family in financial need — including students, teachers, veterans, nurses, and first responders — you qualify for a free one-year membership.

Through the Thrive Gives program, we’ve heard countless stories of resilience and determination. We’ve donated memberships to people helping those in food deserts, to teachers who are going above and beyond to ensure that their students have a nutritious meal, and to ER doctors working on the frontlines to keep people healthy.

We’d like to introduce you to a few of our inspiring Thrive Gives members and show you how they use their memberships to better themselves, their families, and their communities.

Nikki is a stay-at-home mom who uses her Thrive Gives membership to support herself and her growing family. Her food allergies (particularly dairy and wheat) have gotten worse postpartum, so she frequently orders from Thrive Market to support her health and recovery as she cares for her new baby.

Favorite product: Thrive Market Organic Grass-Fed Beef Sticks

Victoria is a college student looking for healthy, affordable grocery options in her rural, low-income college town. She uses her Thrive Gives membership to help support both herself and her parents, who have a history of cancer and diabetes and struggle with kidney disease.

Favorite product: Thrive Market Organic Sweet Potato Chips

Roxanne is an army veteran, a stay-at-home mom, and a brand new Thrive Gives member. When her twins were diagnosed with Celiac disease, she applied for the Thrive Gives membership so she could do all her grocery shopping (she filters by gluten-free and sugar-free) in one place — and for affordable prices.

Favorite product: Too soon to say. “I’m looking forward to trying more!” she says.

Travon is a state trooper, a service member in the U.S. Army Reserve, and a father to a young daughter. He appreciates being recognized for his service by the Thrive Gives program while protecting his community and his country.

Favorite products: Kids’ snacks and cooking oil sprays

Emilie is radio producer and an AmeriCorps member who is passionate about helping those struggling with food insecurity. She believes that in order to help others, you also need to help yourself, so she uses her Thrive Gives membership to order nutritious groceries for herself, her partner, and their new puppy.

Favorite product: Thrive Market Organic Coconut Milk

James is a special education teacher and a student, and his partner Casey is a nursing student. The couple doesn’t have time to make multiple trips to multiple grocery stores while working and going to school, so they use their Thrive Gives membership to help them save time (and create a grocery budget) while pursuing their degrees.

Favorite products: Kitsch Sleep Masks, DeeBee’s Super Fruit Freezer Popsf.a.e. by Thrive Market Organic Rosehip Oil
