The History of WishGarden Herbs

Before starting WishGarden, founder and CEO Catherine Hunziker was an environmental advocate and supporter of the women’s rights movement in the 1970s. While living off the land in the Ozarks, she had a transformative experience that drew her to plant medicine. During a winter walk, she discovered a plant in full bloom, surrounded by bees. After looking up the plant in a field guide (it was witch hazel), her interest in botanicals was born and she continued her herbalist education after moving to Colorado and co-founding the Rocky Mountain Herbalist Coalition. Catherine also worked as a childbirth educator in the midwifery community, where she noticed women were craving solutions to their health issues. To fill this gap, she began formulating herbal liquid blends that remain the foundation of her line today.
