When you’re sticking with a low-carb diet, it typically involves restricting beloved carbs like bread and pasta and choosing loads of veggies and other foods that are high in protein or offer healthy fats. The idea behind low-carb eating is to help stabilize blood sugar levels while lowering levels of insulin, which is known as a fat-storing hormone. Although the long-term effects of this diet are still being researched, one small study found promising results among a group of eight participants: “The diet, ingested for five weeks, dramatically reduced the circulating glucose concentration in people with untreated type 2 diabetes. Potentially, this could be a patient-empowering way to ameliorate hyperglycemia without pharmacological intervention.”
The History of WrawP
WrawP was founded by Elena Semenova, who was exposed to the benefits of growing organic vegetables while growing up on a farm. After moving to Los Angeles as a young adult, she realized it was difficult to maintain the diet she enjoyed at home, so she decided to create her own product to help others struggling to stick to a healthy eating plan. After plenty of recipe experiments and studying different superfood spices and raw ingredients, she began testing her original wrap at a local farmers market. Semenova eventually partnered with Kraig Dooman and officially launched WrawP in 2012.
WrawP Company Mission
One of the mottos at WrawP is to “love your body,” and this is what the brand encourages through its line of gluten-free and low-carb wraps, which offer a wholesome alternative to bread and tortillas. WrawP is based in Los Angeles, and makes a sought-after line of veggie and coconut wraps, pizza crusts, and snacks that cater to a wide range of taste buds and diets that include gluten free, vegan, paleo, vegetarian, and low carb.
Benefits of WrawP
WrawP’s ingredients are 100% Certified Organic and sourced from farms throughout the United States. If you’re wondering how one of these innovative wraps is made, here’s a look at the process. It starts with organic Thai coconuts that are ground with Certified Organic psyllium husk, a dietary fiber known for helping to regulate digestion. Depending on the flavor of the finished product, various fruits, veggies, and spices are added, including turmeric, spirulina, zucchini, apple, flaxseed, and more. The wraps can be enjoyed straight from the package, or there are plenty of ways to incorporate them into your daily meals. For breakfast, spread with your favorite nut butter before wrapping. For lunch, top with a mashed ripe avocado, lettuce, and your favorite meats or roasted veggies. “Thinking outside the wrap” is always encouraged!
