I use this on my carpet but I also sprinkle some on my mattress under my sheets when I change my bad. I think it not only helps clean but gets rid of musty smells and may drive off bugs. My apartment has a spider problem. I've had a mildew problem in my apartment to and I suspect putting this on My carpet may help eliminate mildew and molds by decreasing moisture. Baking soda removes mold.
