What does it mean to be a “mission-driven company”? We say it often at Thrive Market, but here, “mission-driven” isn’t just a marketing buzzword; it’s the reason we do the things we do, even when that means taking a harder route to reach our goals. 

Yet each year, we do reach those goals—for our company and our members, but also for the planet. Whether it’s through regenerative agriculture or initiatives to get healthy groceries into the hands of those who need them most, we make steps each year toward bettering the world through our mission. 

Today, we’re celebrating not just our team’s hard work over the past year, but also the support of you, our members. In return, we’re extending you a transparent look into the work we’re doing (so the next time you see us talking about being a “mission-driven company”, you’ll know exactly what we’re doing to get there). 

Our Biggest Mission Moments in 2022

We reached $9.6 million raised for food equality. 

We pledged to raise $10 million toward healthy groceries for those in need by 2025. Through a combination of member donations and our own matching, we reached $9.6 million in 2022.

Our third fulfillment center became TRUE Certified for Zero Waste 

Our Hanover, PA fulfillment center achieved Gold Level TRUE Certification in 2022, making it our third (and final!) fulfillment center to reuse or recycle more than 90% of the materials that enter our facilities. 

Our Thrive Market boxes are now made of 100% recycled materials. 

In 2022, our shipping boxes got a new look — and are now made of entirely recycled content. 

We’re the largest U.S. grocer to become a B Corp (for two years running!)

B Corps must maintain the highest standards for social and environmental impact, and we’re proud to be the country’s largest B Corp grocer

We added 92 new regeneratively grown products. 

We believe that regenerative agriculture is the way toward a better food future, which is why we’re committed to expanding our assortment of regeneratively grown foods
