You might be one of those people who bolts out of bed in the morning, ready to take on the day. Or, perhaps your energy peaks mid-morning after a slow rise. And we’re guessing you’re not immune to the dreaded afternoon slump following a long, relaxing lunch. What do all of these experiences have in common? Your metabolism.

This chemical process allows your body to convert what you eat and drink into energy. If you imagine your body as a train, metabolism is the engine that keeps it going.

It’s a complex biochemical process involving the calories from food combining with oxygen to release the energy your body needs. Even when your head hits the pillow at night, your metabolism is still running, providing energy for everything from blood circulation to breathing.

This easy-to-make tonic is a tasty way to give yourself an energy boost and may help support a healthy metabolism.

Store in a bottle or pitcher with a lid in the fridge, and take shots throughout the week whenever you’re feeling sluggish.
