Protein Powder Greensicles Recipe

Here’s a dessert that packs a hidden protein punch. Each creamsicle is infused with fresh orange juice, vanilla, a touch of honey, plus a spoonful of coconut- and almond-flavored protein powder. Enjoy one (or two!) of these frozen treats on a hot summer day.

Protein Powder Greensicles

Yield: 10 pops

For the oranges
2 mandarin oranges, thinly sliced

For the creamsicles
1 scoop Vega One Nutritional Shake, Coconut Almond
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 (13.5-ounce) can coconut cream
1 banana
1 tablespoon raw honey
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Special equipment
10-count popsicle mold
10 wooden popsicle sticks


Make the oranges
Fill a large skillet halfway with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add mandarin slices, and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes, until rinds are opaque. Transfer to a towel-lined plate and let cool.

Make the creamsicles
Add all creamsicle ingredients to a blender; blend until smooth. Pour the liquid evenly into popsicle molds. Add a couple of orange slices and use a popsicle stick to gently push them down into the mold. Place tops on each mold and add wooden popsicle sticks. Freeze until solid, at least 8 hours.
