Health benefits of all-natural marinara sauce
When it comes to choosing a pasta sauce, it’s what’s inside that jar that really matters. Not all sauces are made the same—some are loaded with processed ingredients and loads of sugar while others offer more discreet benefits. Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce uses an all-natural blend of ingredients, making it both a tasty and healthy choice. Here are some of the ways it stands apart.
- Antioxidant power: Only high-quality tomatoes are used in Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce, and these fruits are loaded with vitamins A and C and a number of antioxidants that relieve the body of oxidative stress and fight the free radicals that can damage cell structure. Lycopene is the antioxidant that gives tomatoes a bright red color. It’s responsible for maintaining the strength of cell membranes, which in turn allows good nutrients into the body and keeps bad toxins out, helping to prevent many common medical issues such as heart disease, infertility, diabetes, cataracts, and osteoporosis. Other antioxidants like kaempferol can also reduce inflammation and may even help to lower the risk of diabetes thanks to a positive impact on circulation.
- Improved metabolism and immunity: The garlic in Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce not only adds flavor to each jar, but is also quite helpful when it comes to keeping the body running efficiently. Garlic can increase the metabolic rate of the body, making it easier to burn calories and use energy when needed. These powerful cloves are also handy as an antiviral and antibacterial aid, potentially fighting common germs that can make people sick.
- Energy boost: With good amounts of dietary fiber, protein, and iron, each serving of Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce provides an instant dose of energy to feel more alert and productive. Dietary fiber and protein are also important because they make you feel full after eating, which means you are less likely to overeat and can therefore keep weight goals on track.
With so many benefits and a great flavor profile, this sauce is proof that taste doesn’t need to be sacrificed for the sake of clean eating.
Cooking with Rao’s Original Marinara Sauce
Of course you can always make a simple and delicious meal by placing hot marinara sauce atop freshly cooked pasta noodles—pick out a wheatless favorite and then try our seven tips for making the most tasty pasta ever. But, the Italian delicacy can also inspire some unexpected dishes including fish and vegetables.
Though it might seem fishy putting marinara sauce on a filet of cod, the results speak for themselves. Tomato and basil season the fish to perfection and give it a tender texture that makes it mouthwatering to eat. Plus, this slow-cooker recipe only takes 15 minutes of your time to create a perfect dish. All you need is a jar of Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, soy sauce, thyme, and an onion.
For all the vegetarians out there, try braising cauliflower in marinara sauce for meaty texture and incredible Mediterranean flavor. In a large pot, add the sauce, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, anchovies, kalamata olives, red wine vinegar, and olive oil, and let it simmer with a full head of the vegetable for a truly tasty dish.
The ever-popular pizza gets a tasty makeover that makes it prime for meat-free and gluten-free eaters—yet with all the same incredible flavor. First, the dough is made using a wheat-free pizza crust mix. Then, add some Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce, buffalo mozzarella, and Romana cheese before piling on the toppings. Anything veggie goes here, but the recipe recommends fresh zucchini, artichoke hearts, and green olives to start. To create a personalized masterpiece, you might also consider onions, mushrooms, and peppers. Add some salt, lemon, olive oil, and pepper for added seasoning, and then bake for about 10 minutes until the crust is golden brown and ready to dive into.

Delicious Marinara sauce. I also like it as a base to customize with my favorite herbs and spices.
excellent quality and price makes it a great value
My husband said I don't have to make my homemade sauce anymore that this sauce is the closest to his grandmother's.
This is, hands down, the best marinara sauce out there!
I am extremely picky about my marinara sauce. From homemade to restaurant to jar, I am incredibly hard to please. This sauce is AMAZING. I will be adding it to every order!!!
This is my very favorite brand! Yummy heaven.
Born and raised in the Italian immigrant neighborhood of Montreal, then living in South Philly a few years, I know what a true marinara is supposed to taste like. Sampled numerous jarred sauces for at least 40 of my 63 years, and I've always been disappointed. . .until a few years ago when I found RAO's from the Hell's Kitchen restaurant (reservations made a year ahead). Ordered from their site and bought at Whole Foods. . .EXPENSIVE. I'm so happy to have found it here for so much less. Eat as is or add meatballs, bracciole, or other meats. AWESOME!!!
I can't even go back to other brands. No other marinara can compare! It tastes so wonderful!!
Great umami taste
This tomato sauce has that earthy, almost meat-y (though it is vegan) tomato taste. I like it with homemade vegan sausage and pasta or just with bread to dip. I usually make my own and am a sauce snob, but this one passes the test for when I just don't have it in me.
I could drink this whole bottle
THE ONLY SAUCE I have at home.
This is our favorite marinara. Wish it was organic though. I keep it in the house at all times.
Raos pasta sauce

Best store bought sauce
This has been a favorite of mine for years. Everyone thinks it's homemade. I love that I can afford it on Thrive!
This is one tasty sauce. Raos makes a line of great products. Their Marinara Sauce is wonderful.

A family favorite!
My kids love this sauce and it has no added sugar. A plus for me! They notice when I try another kind if I forget to order. It's much cheaper here than the grocery store!
JUST READ THE LABEL!
I KNEW BEFORE I TASTED IT THAT IT WAS A GREAT PRODUCT. ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS, NO FILLERS, NO PRESERVATIVES. I'VE USED IN IN COMBINATION WITH MY OTHER THICKER SAUCES (HOMEMADE) THAT I NEEDED TO THIN OUT AND ONCE OPENED, FOUND OTHER USES FOR IT, LIKE MAKING MY WHITE RICE, MORE LIKE MEXICAN RICE. I LOVE IT AND HAVE ORDERED IT IN THE LARGER SIZE. A QUALITY PRODUCT...NO WONDER THE WELL KNOW CHEFS TALK ABOUT IT.

Really good sauce!
I checked the label 3 times - because it was so sweet and flavorful. There really isn't any sugar in the sauce. It must be made from really good ingredients! Delicious!
I always order Rao's marinara sauce! It's very flavorful and tastes really homemade. I never want to run out of it and always have a jar on hand. It's the best!

I truly love Raos sauces! The flavor is fresh and tastes better than when I make it from scratch. Even my Italian mother-in-law approves!

Best sauce ever!
This is the best pasta sauce I've had, and I'm pretty picky. The seasoning is just perfect - yum! I could seriously eat this sauce by itself, it's so good!
Our go-to jar sauce. Love it!
This sauce is a delicious marina sauce! I will be keeping this as a pantry staple.
Our family loves this marinara sauce!
I won't buy any other sauce
I absolutely love this sauce! I love the ingredients and lack of sugar. And the taste is amazing. I've used it for a year or so and recently found out that my Italian friend uses it in her dishes which everyone raves about. All along I thought she was making her own sauce!
Worth the sacrifice!
My budget is not plentiful and I can stretch a $;practice makes perfect. I came upon a jar sitting on the discount rack just waiting for me. Now, although I search for a lower price....I will purchase if not on sale- it is that delicious! For whatever reason, some grocers in my area (Baltimore) have opted-out of keeping in rotation. Happy on several note. It's on this site and I have been introduced to this site. So happy for my family! Thank you for the opportunity.

We love Rao's Marinara Sauce! We've been using it for years; it's amazing right out of the jar or if you want to create something more elaborate you can't ask for a taster start! Please don't ever stop making this! I don't know what I'd use!
Looks and Tastes Home Made
I made great homemade sauce, but when I'm out and feel like Italian, this now my go to jarred sauce.
Love this product...but hope that you will carry the sensitive formula too.
Delicious - and no added sugar!
This marinara sauce is extremely tasty, and I love that it does not have added sugar! That is hard to find in bottled marinara sauces. I just wish it were a bit less expensive!
Yum Yum Yum
This is far and away the best marinara from a jar that I've tasted in a long time! This is definitely a new family favorite.
Great authentic sauce
I really like Rao's homemade sauce. It's made from real Italian tomatoes, olive oil, slat, onions and garlic with some basil mixed in.
It doesn't have that too sweet taste that most brand names sauces have, and it's great as a top layer on Italian dishes, or as the main sauce. I usually make meat sauce with this and it comes out great.
I love Thrive and their discounts. This goes for under eight dollars, but costs more than 10 on Amazon. Membership pays off on this site.

Tastes like my mom's
My mom's a great cook and spaghetti and meatballs was her specialty. But she used to spend hours on that tomato sauce, and it tasted so good.
I've tried to make that sauce, but who has that kind of time? I picked up Raos after a friend said it was the best she'd used. It tastes just like my mom's sauce. Very low sugar, so you can taste the organic tomatoes, garlic and spices. It's a fantastic sauce that I use for spaghetti and meatballs, lasagne and baked manicotti.

As a small business owner, I prefer supporting other small businesses - and especially companies that are woman-owned. I switched from my regular marinara sauce to this, and mmm, it's really good! I've been using it to dip my home-made cheese sticks in, and I find that the taste is never tiring. It has a rich tomato taste, and the red coloring is pretty true-to-life. It's a great and delicious marinara!
