Reviews For Cacao Nibs
Based on 25 Reviews
these are gross! horrible tasting.
I love these things. I use them in place of chocolate chips. cause my body now hate sugar . I put them on and in all kinds of things. thank you so much for making them.
They do not taste good right out of the bag. Where can I get some recipes for us to use?

The best tasting Cacao Nibs I have ever had. They are high quality, full of anti-oxidants and taste great! I love the texture for adding a little crunch to my morning smoothie.
My husband who is a diabetic loves chocolate. These nibs are a healthy and delicious way for him to enjoy chocolate and not worry about sugar.

I love these for my smoothies! They make me feel like I'm eating a treat:))
They seem more like pieces of cracked nuts. No taste to them but they are as natural as it gets. I did try to eat them by themselves and yuck. I did put them in stuff and they were pretty good.
Yum - paleo nutella!
Ground in a coffee grinder, added to almond butter with a little sea-salt, vanilla, and a dash of maple syrup (or erythritol, or stevia) you have something delicious. I like it better than chocolate - it definitely saved me from succumbing.
The nibs are bitter, almost like eating a coffee bean, but more floral and less acid.
I bought these because of research I read on pubmed about cacao polyphenols improving skin elasticity. I trust the Navitas brand.
Put this in my Coconut Milk Yogurt! Absolutely yummy!
Oh what a horrible surprise these nibs were. Probably one of the most unpleasant tastes I've ever encountered!
Not too tasty
This product is not gonna fix your chocolate cravings. I'm not quite sure how to describe it but it's very dry (so have water handy) and it has what tastes like shell/hull/husk in it that takes away from the natural cocoa/chocolate taste.
good raw cacao nibs, large bag.
Great with Coffee!
I make fancy coffees every morning with my espresso machine (spoiled, I know) and add a little of cacao on top of it for a rich flavor. I prefer this over syrups because the flavor is more authentic.
I love that this cacao is certified organic and non-GMO. Sometime, if I am feeling way out there, I add a little cinnamon and vanilla power to enhance my coffee experience. The only reason it is not getting 5 stars is the fact that sometimes its a little to bitter. Really depends on my mood though.

Delicious sub for chocolate cravings
I sprinkle this on a banana with almond butter and it is the perfect snack!
I put them on everything! Smoothies, yogurt, salads. I love the raw bitter flavor. They are a great no-sugar alternative to real chocolate, especially since my dad has diabetes.
A snack you can feel good about
Although I wish cacao nibs tasted more like chocolate I still like them. It's a great source of fiber and even antioxidants.
I use my cacao nibs for many of the same things you'd use chocolate chips for. I don't usually eat them alone, but I found they do taste great thrown in my ice cream or smoothies.

It's not chocolate...
... but you'll be fooled.
I love cacao nibs. I like that I can order great items like this from Thrive Market and they show me right on the page what is in it and what isn't. I am gluten free and I am tired of reading labels. I feel so safe shopping here.
Cacao nibs are great mixed in smoothies and baked goods, or alone.
Great with trail mix
I love these cacao nibs, but instead of eating them alone I mix them in with my trail mixes. I also use them for other things when I am baking.
Cacao nibs make a great healthy replacement for chocolate chips and the kids love them. I wish I could find a recipe using them in fudge!

Saving My Diet
These are my diet SAVIOR! The first thing you need to understand is that they don't taste like milk or dark chocolate. They definitely taste like cacao, but it fulfills my chocolate craving in the same way. The second thing that you need to know is that it's a delicious and healthier alternative to chocolate, and they even have some amazing fiber to them.
I've been keeping these in the kitchen in a simple resealable bowl. When I go into the kitchen "looking" for food without a purpose, I eat one of these nibs then sit back down. The nibs make me feel like I had my "snack" while I'm not eating a ton of calories and still having something fulfilling. It's really a great trade-off.
A decent alternative
Since I am a dark chocolate fan, complaints about the bitterness of cacao nibs has never turned me off. I don't think they are as good as the real thing, but they make a great chocolate-like snack that isn't packed with sugar.
I actually like to mix my cacao nibs in with ice cream. I also have been known to use them in place of chocolate chips when making cookies. Many don't even notice the difference.
- Gretchen Tran
I loved it.
I am a sweet tooth and I am also on a diet so when I heard about this cacao nibs, I went and tried it for myself. I loved it. At first the smell was kinda off but you get used to it actually. Cacao nibs is like dark chocolate but with better benefits and without the sugar.

Too bitter to be great
I've got a pretty good palate, and I'm not scared to try exotic food. So buying a pouch of cacao nibs isn't out of my wheelhouse exactly, although I was surprised at how nervous I was before I popped these into my mouth. It's almost as if I knew they were destined to disappoint.
I wouldn't say the taste is horrible, in fact it's tolerable, but the nibs are really bitter and they leave an aftertaste. You really need to use these as a topping to get the best use of them, but I'm no sure the price justifies what you get in return.

Five Star chocolate
As a reformed chocaholic, I'm always looking for something I can eat without the first ingredient listed being sugar. I've tried Navitas Naturals cacao beans before and liked them, so I figured the nibs might be good too.
I wasn't far off the mark as the nibs are perfect way not to go overboard with chocolate, yet still get the full-bodied flavor of raw chocolate beans with no added sugar.
- Rowena Harwood
These nibs are super crunchy and have a fantastic taste that does have a slight bitter edge. If you want to cut some of that bitterness, sprinkle the nibs over a healthy dessert like a fruit bowl for a change of pace.
Navitas takes care not to put anything inside a pouch but the nibs, which are derived from raw chocolate so there's no artificial sugar to spike your blood. A great way to stay involved with chocolate without all the guilt.
- Ronald H.
I've pretty much cut all chocolate out of my diet because I was eating too much sugar and my doctor warned me I was teetering on the edge of diabetes. But I still have a sweet tooth, so these nibs come in very handy.
They have a rich chocolate taste that's wonderful when used in healthy smoothies, on top of almond milk ice cream, or even sprinkled on Greek yogurt. I don't feel guilty crunching on these nibs, knowing they're packed with antioxidants and have no added sugar.
