The History of Prima

Prima was founded by Jessica Assaf, Laurel Angelica Myers, and Christopher Gavigan, three veterans of the health industry. Myers and Gavigan cut their teeth at The Honest Company, amongst other places, while Assaf worked as an activist after attaining her degree from Harvard Business School. The three saw the impact of stress all around them and began working on a series of simple products that could help combat it.

In the time since its founding, Prima has turned the self-care industry on its head with its hemp-based wellness solutions.

As a part of its positive mission, Prima exclusively uses renewable energy to fuel its headquarters and offsets as much of its emissions as possible, with the goal of being carbon-neutral across its entire supply chain by 2025. Prima also strives to have a positive impact by calculating the cost of the carbon that it does emit (typically at around $50 per ton of emissions) and investing that money into projects that help heal the environment.
