Our second wine from Domaine de Roquemale, the Gres is darker in nose profile than the Terrasses owing to the strength of the Syrah in the blend. This varietal contributes toward a more concentrated and darker fruit profile alongside a lush texture. The savory qualities trend more towards black olive than dried herbs. On the palate, the wine provides a medium body, soft tannins, and restrained, moderate acidity. With just 32 acres of organically farmed “bad rock” (or “roquemale” in the local patois), this and the Terrasses are small scale, special wines.
