The chocolate industry discards 70% of the cacao plant, but not Blue Stripes. Their cacao enthusiasts have perfected using the whole fruit—shell, fruit, and beans—to create superfood snacks, drinks, butters, and more. This sustainable brand values people over profits and maintains a close relationship with their farmers, who are paid a fair wage.

Blue Stripes has built their brand around the superfood cacao. Technically a fruit, this bean is found inside the cacao plant and can be used in a variety of ways including trail mix, beverages, and baked goods. When it’s processed at low temperatures (a necessary step to create cacao powder and separate it from cacao butter), cacao retains all of its enzymes, vitamins, and nutrients and is considered a raw food. That’s the high-quality ingredient Blue Stripes infuses into every product, and our members can’t get enough.
Founder Oded Brenner didn’t set out to have a career in chocolate, but after working with a famed chocolatier in Paris, he was filled with inspiration. On a trip to the Blue Mountains in Jamaica, Brenner was offered a traditional breakfast that included a cacao beverage he couldn’t stop thinking about. Back home in Queens, he discovered cacao fruit pulp (and its multiple uses), and decided to open a local shop dedicated to offering tropical cacao to urban plates.
Blue Stripes is committed to what it calls “a whole cacao revolution,” and crafts recipes that live up to their standards of wellness, equity, and sustainability.
The chocolate industry wastes up to 70% of the cacao plant during production, but Blue Stripes takes a whole cacao approach that includes the shell, fruit, and beans in everything it creates. That also means you’ll enjoy added vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. Blue Stripes also prioritizes ethical sourcing efforts that include equitable farming practices, fair compensation, and a commitment to people over profits.
Every product is made using 100% cacao chocolate from Central America.
