Ultra-moisturizing shea butter, skin superstar coconut oil, and a scent that’s the stuff of vanilla ice cream dreams—our DIY whipped vanilla body butter puts conventional, artificially fragranced body creams on the market to shame.
Here wellness coach Jennifer Partridge shares the simple stovetop recipe. Vitamin E–rich almond oil elevates the formula thanks to its skin-softening emollients and slightly nutty aroma, while vanilla and cinnamon essential oils add extra sweetness.

Ingredients
½ cup unrefined shea butter
½ cup coconut oil
½ cup almond oil
40 drops vanilla essential oil
40 drops cinnamon essential oil
Directions
Melt shea butter in a pot for 5 minutes on medium heat, and mix in coconut oil. Pour mixture into a large bowl and cool in the fridge for one hour.
After cooling, the mixture should have a semi-solid but soft texture. Whip it for 5 minutes with a hand or stand mixer, or by hand with a whisk. Add in almond oil and essential oils while whipping. Pour into a mason jar with a lid and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Smooth it onto shoulders, knees, toes, or anywhere you want soft, supple skin.
