Katie, the woman behind the site, loves making canine-approved treats packed with great ingredients like sweet potato and coconut oil. This recipe has been taste-tested by Katie’s pup, Daisy, as well as a few lucky dogs spending the day at Thrive HQ. Each one wanted a second bite, and was willing to sit for it!
2 medium sweet potatoes, cooked and cooled
½ cup Thrive Market Organic Coconut Flour
¼ cup gelatin powder (optional)
½ cup Thrive Market Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, melted
1 to 2 tablespoons water, as needed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until well incorporated. If needed, add extra coconut flour to firm up the dough; it should be slightly thinner than kids’ play dough. Form into 1-inch balls, then flatten with the palm of your hand to form into cookies, or use a bone-shaped cookie cutter. Bake for 20 minutes, until the edges are slightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool completely, then store in an airtight container, refrigerated, for several weeks, or freeze for up to 2 months.
