All the signs of fall are beginning to appear. There’s a crispness in the afternoon air. A few yellow leaves are peeking out from the green. At Starbucks, customers are starting to line up for Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
The seasonal beverage is so beloved, it even has its own Twitter account. And if you don’t feel like braving the crowds to get your hands on one, you can always make your own at home. All you need is this simple blend of five fall spices. And it’s not just for coffee drinks; sprinkle some on oatmeal, pancakes, cookies, mixed nuts, granola—wherever you want a little warm, gingery-cinnamony goodness.
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 ½ teaspoons ground allspice
1 ½ teaspoons ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in a small jar. Seal and store for up to six months.
