Red Wine Hot Cacao Recipe

After the kids go to bed, spike your hot chocolate with some adult-approved ingredients. Start with red wine (‘nuff said), then whisk in a cacao powder made with cinnamon, cardamom, and superfood fungi. Each packet delivers 500 mg of dual-extracted, log-grown red Reishi mushrooms per serving, so you can enjoy a relaxing night. Cheers!

Red Wine Hot Cacao

Yield: 2 servings
Active Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 ½ cups almond milk
2 packages Four Sigmatic Mushroom Hot Cacao Mix, Cinnamon and Cardamon
3 ounces dark chocolate chips
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
¼ cup red wine
Mini marshmallows, for serving
Shaved dark chocolate, for serving

Instructions

Whisk almond milk, cacao mix, and chocolate chips in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly, until chocolate is fully melted. Add the cayenne (if using), and divide into 2 mugs. Add 2 tablespoons red wine into each drink; stir. Top with mini marshmallows and shaved chocolate before serving.
