Staggering Statistic: America’s Fast Food Habit

Last Update: March 6, 2020

Though more and more consumers are choosing healthier options over greasy burgers and fries, the fast food habit still has a strong hold on a lot of us.

In 2014, the average American spent $1,200 a year on fast food. For a typical adult, that’s two fast food meals per week, spending an average of $12.50 on each meal.

The reason why so many people chose fast food? One in seven people polled said they were simply too lazy.
