If your favorite part of your yoga class is chillin’ in savasana, you’ve got to try this DIY yoga eye pillow.
After a long day of staring at the computer, scrolling through Instagram, and adjusting from natural light to artificial light, eyes can feel fatigued and weak. Revive tired eyes and rejuvenate the whole body with a quick meditation—and get the most out of your me-time by using a yoga eye pillow.
Those who’ve taken a restorative yoga class (or just have really nice yoga teachers) will recognize this prop: Typically full of rice, flax, or lentils and scented with aromatic essential oils, an eye pillow lays flat over the eyes and bridge of the nose during savasana or meditation.
The result of a savasana that’s elevated with an eye pillow? A truly blissed out ending to a challenging class (or workday). It’s easy to make on your own: Just fill a clean tube sock with about 1/2 cup of lentils. Knot or sew the end shut so the entire eye mask is about 10 inches long, and you’re ready for a truly transcendental meditation!
