Looking for a simple way to keep herbs fresh? Get your freezer involved! Making ice cubes keeps the herbs fresh, and creates perfect little squares ideal for dropping into a hot pan as the base of a sauce or to sauté anything from chicken to tofu.
Chop up fresh herbs like basil or cilantro and combine them with a little water or olive oil. Portion them into an ice cube tray, and freeze them. Once the cubes are ready, you can seal them in a ziplock and just grab one whenever you need a pop of flavor.
