Spices and butterscotch-like maca powder add new dimension to this zesty hot drink. Drink this extra dark hot chocolate first thing in the morning for an energy boost, or enjoy as a mid-afternoon treat.

2 cups hemp milk, or another non-dairy milk
3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon maca powder
3 tablespoons raw honey, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Small pinch nutmeg
Small pinch Himalayan salt
In a small saucepan over medium heat, pour in hemp milk and bring to a low simmer. Add in cacao powder, honey, cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt, whisking vigorously all the while to combine. Warm through and divide into cups.
