There was a time when finding a crowd-pleasing, Whole30®-compliant snack to make for a football game, birthday party, or casual get-together was nearly impossible. Thankfully, those days are behind us. If you need further convincing, look no further than these perfectly crispy, Whole30®-friendly chicken wings with buffalo sauce. In the latest episode of Prep School, Megan Mitchell shows us how to make them using an air fryer. And we highly recommend the accompanying homemade ranch dipping sauce.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings
Active time: 10 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
For the homemade ranch dressing:
½ cup coconut milk
½ cup Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons dried chives
1 tablespoon dried dill
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried tarragon
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
For the buffalo wings:
Coconut oil spray
2 pounds organic chicken wings (flats and drumettes)
1 (12-ounce) bottle Noble Made The New Primal Medium Buffalo Sauce
1 English cucumber, sliced into ½-inch rounds
Celery sticks
Make the homemade ranch dressing:
Whisk all ingredients in a small bowl; taste for seasoning. If you like a thicker dressing, use ¼ cup coconut milk and ¾ cup mayo instead.
Make the buffalo wings:
Set air fryer to 360°F. Spray basket with cooking spray; spread wings in even layer and fry 20 minutes. Flip wings and fry 5 to 10 minutes more, or until golden and crisp. When wings are finished, place in a large bowl and pour buffalo sauce on top; toss. Serve with ranch, sliced cucumbers, and celery.
